ONGC Signs MoA with ALIMCO for implementing their CSR-Project (ONGC’s Swavlamban Abhiyan)

A historic agreement has been inked between Maharatna PSU, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation LTD. (ONGC) and Kanpur based PSU Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation Of India (ALIMCO) which is also a fully owned PSE of Ministry Of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government. Of India, on 10th December 2013 at ONGC’s CSR corporate headquarter in New Delhi.

The agreement valuing Rs.250 Million for 1st Phase of ONGC’s CSR initiative, named ‘ONGC’s Swavlamban Abhiyan’, is for the purpose of providing Aids and Assistive devices to Persons with Disabilities(PwDs) and other differently able population including children with special needs on pan India basis.

The agreement was signed by Lt. Col (Retd.) P.K Dube, GM, ALIMCO and Shri Prakash Chandra Agrawal, GM, CSR, ONGC. Also present on the occasion were Shri M.S Ray, GM,Finance, ALIMCO, Shri R.K Mathur, Sr.Manager and Shri Rajesh K.V, Dy. Manager, Marketing from ALIMCO and Shri Monu Bhatnagar, Chief Chemist & Ms Swati alongwith gentry of officials from ONGC headquarter.
Under the current agreement, which is one of the biggest contract under CSR Scheme of ONGC, ALIMCO is undertaking the task of identification of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in 100 districts especially backward districts across the country and distributing requisites Artificial limbs , Prosthetic appliance, Mobility aids and Aids for hearing and visually impaired persons and mentally retarded patients.

Lt. Col (Retd.) P. K Dube while thanking the ONGC management for entrusting their faith on ALIMCO as channel partner in furtherance of nobel project, expressed hope that many other CPSU’s and other corporate bodies shall soon be joining hands with ALIMCO in this feild of activity. The proposal is already on the anvil for conducting additional 162 camps for ONGC during financial Year 2014-15 and a special overseas project for 1000 beneficiaries for ‘ONGC Videsh’ in Sudan. Many such projects for other organisation will be undertaken by ALIMCO in near future.

Shri G.Narayan Rao, CMD, ALIMCO has thanked ONGC partners and praised dedicated team of ALIMCO’s officers and personnel whose hard work has not only brought the peerless growth of corporation but also established its presence in National and International arena in disability sector.
